Why I want to go to this place  — 1 year ago

Well, I quit my job and career as a mechanical engineer. That’s the first step. Now I”m going to focus on healing my mind, body, spirit and generating money through options trading over the next couple years.

To go back to school is a huge undertaking and perhaps what I really want is not to actually go to med school, but perhaps there is a program that allows me to integrate the studies I’m interested in with a traditional medical background that rolls that into research?

Since I am older and I don’t want to spend 20 yrs in school, I will probably end up hiring people to help prep me for school, accelerate my learning abilities, etc. I’m sure those types of people are out there and with enough money, anything is possible, right?

Well, it certainly would be a miracle. God deals in miracles. One step at a time. Or, I’m wondering if the better thing is to generate a lot of money and find the people I want that are experts in their areas and utilize their expertise?

Hmmm…so much to think about? Time to hit the sack.

Med School?  — 2 years ago

I’d been toying with the idea of going to med school for awhile. I have my degree in mechanical engineering from ASU and been out of school for nearly 15 yrs. It’s been a long time since I’ve really “studied”.

My plans were to just do my PhD here in the west. I’m not a cold weather person. Plus, Harvard for Med school? I’m 38 yrs old. It would be in endocrinology. I am really into alternative/integrative type medical care, but wanted a traditional medical degree.

The 3 schools I was interested in are: Harvard, John Hopkins, Standford. It would take some big miracles for me to get into any of these schools. I need to take the grad and med entrance exams and still in the decision process. It’s really so different than where I am now.

I have my reasons for wanting to go to any of these schools. A lot of stuff has to happen between now and even getting to apply to these schools, so I’m not going to worry about it. If God wants me to go to med school and to any of these schools, I will.

Before med school, I actually wanted to get a multi-disciplinarian PhD in 5-6 different areas. I hadn’t decided on the school yet, but I may stay in AZ for that, or we may move somewhere. Our kids are young right now, but living near family is a huge bonus. I think it’s important for the kids to be near family. This one is a toughy.
