The restaurant looks like any normal beach restaurant…but with a twist. They are not above playing pranks on unsuspecting patrons. One of my fellow sailors sat down at a picnic table with me. I noticed a dreadlocked guy making funny eyes at me behind my friend Carol (about 65 years old). Carol started swatting at a “bug” during the conversation. As the conversation wore on Carol became more frenzied with getting this bug away from her. Finally she leaped from the table and jumped down a flight of stairs. She ran across the restaurant! The dreadlocked guy chased after her. He was tickling her with a feather on the end of a stick!! The whole restaurant was in tears watching the spectacle. Carol was jittery the whole evening aftere that. HAHAHA! Later the same guy was playing in the band. As Carol and her daughters and I were dancing, the dread guy came up behind Carol and swatted her with his dreads. Carol jumped about 10 feet in the air. Mean but hilarious.

I wandered around aimlessly until I came to the One Love bar. One of the patrons was playing blues guitar, the bar owner had just cooked some fresh kingfish, and the owners baby was playing on the bar. Try some of the local homemade brew also. Totally easy relaxing day.

Unless you like total solitude don’t go in September. Most of the islands restaurants & clubs close for the month. Otherwise, if you have rented a house you can always go to the grocery store and cook. But anytime of the year is the best time for paradise.
