Budapest

I’ve applied for a job that would take me there, and I would love to see the river and all the architecture.

Took train from Vienna, as was staying in Vienna. If staying for a few days, book an apartment especially if there is a few people as the cost per person if very little.
If going to Prague, go to Budapest first as Prague is ever so slightly nicer!

Budapest is a very beautiful city, definitely worth visiting. Unfortunately, I was there at night time, so I wouldn’t be able to give any travel advice.

I haven’t been to Prague (yet!), but people say that it is similar to that city. Be prepared to loosen that belt – lots of meat and red wine, you won’t go hungry! And loads of thermal baths to relax in as well :)

Wish that I could have had a couple of extra days to do some day trips outside the city, like to Statue Park.

I lived in this city for six years and I have to say that those were the best years of my life. I absolutely adore this city. The scenery is just beautiful and the historic buildings are just breathtaking. Ok, it’s a big city and it’s quite crowded, traffic can be horrible and unfortunately there are many homeless people on the street but and it is important to be clear about this before you go. But if you’re looking for great food, lovely people, amazing architecture and beautiful scenery then this is the place to go.

I’ve been here two years ago. It was something like school trip, but there were only a few people. We spent here three days. We went to all important streets and monuments. Comparing to my country, Hungary is a very clean and nice place. After two great churches, we visited a big synagogue, which left the best impresson on me. It was July, the weather was nice, so we took a boat and sailed on the Danube, under beautiful Budapest bridges. Stars, city lights, wind, it was really unforgettable! (Sorry for bad English)

We were never supposed to go to Budapest. Somewhere between Copenhagen and Prague, we had unintentionally befriended/had the same itinerary as these two great Aussies from Sydney.
They were headed to Bratislava – Budapest. We got strung along by a fortunate chain of events.

If anyone is considering going, please, please stay at the Backpack Guesthouse.
This is what made the experience so beautiful.
You walk through the colorful doors and immediately you’re at home. The staff is beautiful and warm. Theres a big canopy of trees in the garden with a platform to meditate and hammocks to sleep in. Its a fairytale place that I plan to go back to, especially for Sziget.

go on vacation

I received a beautiful postcard from Budapest, and it made me want to see the country for myself. I’m a big fan of beautiful buildings, and Budapest seems to have very many.
