I visited Chandler on business a few years ago. I was in the Phoenix area for a conference and my trip happened to coincide with the same time one of my coworkers was moving to Chandler. The firm set her up to telecommute from her new home there. While I was in town I helped her get some of the technology connections set up for her. She had a really beautiful home there and what I saw of the Chandler was really lovely. If I weren’t so heat averse I wouldn’t mind living there.

Chandler is almost solid residential and actually a great place to live if you want a slightly less crime-infested neighborhood but still want the action of phoenix and tempe.
My roommates ended up moving there because the real estate is great and their mall (the Chandler fashion mall) is a pretty great one.

This was the first place my hubby an I lived after we got married :)
Just wondering for those out there who have children or know of fun places to take the kids to. I have a 6 yr old daughter and a 3 yr old son.
They love going to Splatter in downtown Chandler to do pottery painting. We go to various parks to play, ride our bikes around, the library to read, the gym for various children’s classes, Makutu’s Island—just wondering if there were other things or suggestions people might have…..
If so, please post where those places are, if there’s a cost, etc.
For those who like ethnic type places, particularly Ethiopian food, Tina’s on Arizona Ave (East side of AZ between Galveston and Chandler Blvd) is a place you can feel at home, comfortable.
Tina & Dan are a nice couple with 2 cute little kids that run around. The menu selection isn’t big, but the food is good. My husband and I with our kids go there and have been for quite some time.
They are very hospitable people. Prices are reasonable.
I wish there were more ethnic type places here in the East Valley, particularly Chandler, but this is a start.

Chandler is a great town. Close to Phoenix, but enough distance to where the crime is not as bad. Lots of restaurants and shopping. Plus they have the hot air balloon festival and the ostrich festival
