Worth visiting!

I live in the local Bay area and every time we make the short 45 minute journey to Napa Valley I feel like my persona changes from a normal everyday working american to a special, elite, high cultured californian. There is something magical and prestine about napa that touches everyone who goes there. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit before you leave.

The first time I went to Nappa Valley was with a group of friends during a trip to California. When I flew out there, there hadn’t been any plans to go to Nappa. It was a wonderful surprise, and one of the best days of my life. I met a dear friend that day, and fell in love with wine for the first time! The scenery is heavenly and I’ll never forget how everything smelled, felt, or tasted.

I was 16. I had decided that I would have a wine tasting hobby. It seemed like a cultured sort of hobby to have. I had heard that you could taste wine for free at the wineries, which was a good thing, as money was not something I had a lot of.

I felt very worldly sashaying up to the wine bars and asking what was being offered that day.

Over the years, I have had many truly wonderful experiences wine tasting. I try to belong to one wine club at all times. My current club is with what used to be the Coppola winery. It is such a joy to go there, and sit in a cave like room, and sip glorious wine.

If you intend to go wine tasting in Napa, some of the coolest places are:

Robert Sinsky, where you also get to nibble fancy tid bits, and your tasting fee can be appllied to wine purchases.

ZD, which stands for zero defects. Organic.

Darioush, which is gorgeous, and the wines are outstanding.

Prager Portworks, if you like port.

Check out the wineries on line before you go, and pick no more than 5 to go to. Otherwise, you will spend tons of money and drink too much. A limo is well worth the money, especially if you have a group and everyone wants to taste.

I was 18 and could not appreciate its beauty and fine wine. I went again this past Christmas and fell in love. (I also got engaged)
We stayed at an amazing B&B- Candlelight inn- took the wine train, visited many wineries and ate to our hearts content. Would love to go back during the harvesting of the grapes but probably won’t make it for another few years.
