Why I want to go to this place — 1 year ago
After an absurdly pricy disappointment this past spring at Nobu Next Door, I can’t wait to try my favorite Iron Chef’s omakase!

Well, it’s a fancy place and it’s run by the Iron chief of Japanese, so, you definetely should visit it if you are a fan of “Iron Chief”.
The restraunt has a very neat design, the food is good, the menu is unique, the taste of food is excellent, but the portion is SMALL, considering the price they charge you, it could be better. But overall, it’s a good dinning experience.

During my first trip to Philly, I saved up my travel money just for the Omakase dinner. (There’s also a lunch version of the Omakase which has fewer courses, but it’s definitely more affordable at half the price!)
But let me tell you, it’s worth the experience. The atmosphere, the plates, the food.. and seeing Chef Morimoto in person. I loved the black cod miso dish and the chinese style chilean sea bass. I found the rock shrimp tempura to be a bit heavy, but delicious nonetheless. It’s a good plate to share with people, but a bit much to eat by yourself!

I already know what I want. To sit at the sushi bar, watch Masaharu Morimoto prepare the most expensive omakase while drinking a bamboo caraffe of Morimoto’s Junmai Daiginjo sake. All the while remenising about the original Iron Chef. Maybe he’d split a bottle of the Rogue Morimoto Soba Ale with me?
