Worth visiting!

The Well and gardens are BEAUTIFUL! My bf and I visited on a hot day after a morning of walking around the Abbey so this was a perfect place to chill out and cool down afterwards! The paddling pool+waterfall were a godsend as they are FREEZING!

We filled up a couple of bottles from the Lion’s Head and drank a fair bit of the water – very high iron content – bringing a fair amount back to share between pagan friends of ours.

The swing seat is great to relax on, in its’ own rather secluded little garden (not the one in the meadow which was very busy while we were there). There are also a few little chairs hidden by foliage in hedge-like bits to really disappear from the other visitors! It was great fun finding those spots!

The Well&Gardens also offer a membership, included in which is 24/7 access to the grounds and accommodation in the retreat building which is well worth the low fee!

Worth visiting!

I’d recommend visiting here just for the chance to sit quietly in contemplation in a beautiful, peaceful spot. I still have a bottle of water from here. Hmnh. Come to think of it, I should probably put it on my household altar.
