I was planning on visiting my uncle for several months before I finally left home with my aunt on 12th of December. Our neighbour Marijana drove us to the bus station and we waited for the bus for Zurich to come. We left Croatia soon.
When we got to Switzerland, we asked the driver to stop near the gas station of Langnau so that my uncle Gega can pick us up. We waited for him at the gas station and he arrived quickly. We got into his car and he drove us right to his building in Thalwil. We got there pretty soon.
Aunt Simica was waiting for us at home and the kids were sleeping. We started talking to each other and eventually, we woke the kids up with our chattering. I was hyper all day long and I couldn’t go to bed. So I decided to stay active and go for a walk. I don’t remember everything clearly.
I didn’t have any trouble adjusting to the new surroundings, but not knowing German was definitely a weak spot. In the next two weeks, I managed to go shopping in Zurich’s Löwenplatz (an amazing square) and visit some other places too. My cousin took me to Starbucks for frappuccino vanilla and I got caught taking pictures of police. That was the only unpleasant thing that happened to me (next to my female cousin calling me a “zwitter” [a person who is both male and female] and Simica getting angry when Jagoda wanted me to bring my yellow glass to Ana’s lunch, noting how she shouldn’t be doing that because nobody is poisonous and I can drink from other people’s glasses).
All in all, it was a family thing rather than traveling thing, and I had a nice time with my relatives. Uncle was kind to me, and aunt was even kinder. I was surprised by us not fighting at all while we were there. I would definitely love to visit my uncle again, but traveling by bus for twelve hours is not my idea of fun. I’ll wait for us to get a car.

I would recommend anyone visting Interlaken Switzerland you stay at Bombers. It is a great, cheap place to stay, and you can book great activies such as canyoning and paragliding. I would definatly recommend checking it out!

It is one of the most beautiful places I have been! And it’s so so so so much fun!!!! Anything you want to do, you can do it in Interlaken! (go to http://www.interlakenadventure.com/) Don’t be dissuaded by guidebooks that say that it’s too touristy. It is overrun with tourists, but there’s a reason for it: Interlaken is AMAZING!!!

It was so beautiful, and the mountains and rivers and forests were great. We went white water rafting in the Swiss Alps, and that was truly unforgettable.

I was in switzerland for a week and I loved this place. I was in the south western section of the country where they most speak french. The food was amazing, the view was unbelievable and the cities were beautiful. However nothing goes on after 8 pm. And I mean nothing. Almost every restaurant is closed and I could not find a bar with any life.

... due to mudslides. I was traveling between Italy and Germany by bus. It was by FAR the most beautiful traffic jam I’ve ever been it! Next time I’d like to stop and see much, much more. :)

Every area has its charms. The people are a bit difficult to warm up to, but they mean well.
