i took a road trip and we drove across arizona and i saw lots of desert. it was amazing. and i didnt realize that this was the only state to really have those big 10-gallon arms straight up cactus.
stayed in yuma for several days. the heat made me feel like i was melting.
and the air was still so warm at night.

Arizona is a beautiful place, I would love to go back! The weather can be a little over bearing at first but overall its great! :) they do have an illegal immigration problem, but it will be gone soon.

Part of my move to Texas...  — 8 months ago

    Worth visiting!

Last week, I moved from Oregon to Texas, and part of my journey took me across northern Arizona on Interstate 40 (old Route 66). The scenery is wonderful, and although the trip itself was something of a drag for me (because I was in a rental truck with a cat, towing a car), it’s definitely a trip I would love to make again in a somewhat more leisurely fashion. I didn’t stop very often, because I was trying to finish the trip as quickly as possible, but I did stop at Seligman and spent the night in Winslow. Both nice little towns. It was a lot colder there than I really expected it to be, but at least it didn’t snow.

I went to visit my “friend” Friend is in quotes because he was more than that, but had moved there so I had to resign myself to being “Just friends” Dear lord if I coulda changed that!!! We visited with his family, they showed me the sights, he was very much a gentleman….I stayed at their house and, he told me later, he wanted to knock on the bedroom door—but he didn’t…and oh, if he had, things would be SO different now!!
I loved Tucson..but more, I loved his family and the guy living there. My mind set there was ‘oh I’m visiting my friend’ We stood on top of ‘A’ mountain near the university and looked down on Tucson… I’ll never forget the view…so expansive!
The visit was way too short and even after I came home, he continued to call me daily….
