I’d say Tasmania, for the ratio of landmass to beauty has to be one of the nicest places I have ever been. Tasmania has a real romantic, hideaway feel to it. Even the cities are small, underpopulated and quiet. If you have never been, do. Get a car and drive around it in a couple of weeks, well worth the time.

There is subtle beauty all around the island. I especially liked the Leven River area. I just stumbled upon the area while on vacation there.

I am hoping to go maybe during Christmas holidays – debating between Tassie or New Zealand.

Another inspiration from The World’s “Geo Quiz”: One of the quizzes this week featured Tasmania, with an extensive discussion about Tasmanian Leatherwood Honey by a beekeeper (and author) from Connecticut, who traveled to Tasmania solely for the honey. Yum!
And the diverse flora & fauna don’t harm the appeal of the island, either!
