Cartagena

One of the places I went :)

Cartagena is one of my favorite places in Colombia. It has a real Caribbean feel to it. Don’t go to the beaches there; therer are better beaches if you take a short boat ride from the city to one of the islands. It is really cool on the islands because they have wild parrots. A lot of places in the tourist part of the city will have tame parrots that you can hold for a donation; those are nice too. Good photo op. Since there are a lot of tourists there, it is more expensive there than in other parts of Colombia. Weather is really hot and muggy, so be prepared.

I reccomend you visit the Fortress..

Cartagena is a truly gem, though a bit expensive but visiting it worth every single penny. My advice is to get a good travelling guide such the 2006 edition of Colombia by Lonely planet. There, you will find very useful tips to travel not only to Cartagena, but around Colombia.

there is so much beauty and history everywhere
it’s hard to not enjoy yourself
unless you dont like the beach and old buildings

the beaches are not as beautiful but the city is really great! they have all this historical background kept perfectly… soooo nice to visit! Also is the safest place in Colombia!

I love Cartagena . . . the Old City is a miniaturized version of Ciudad Vieja en Havana . . . .but better maintained . . .the climate is perfect, the people are beautiful and friendly, the food is fantastic . . .and the music .. que chevere!

The old fort is gorgeous. Mountains around the city are fantastic and lush.

Things are sunnier, friendlier, cheaper and generally more pleasant then the leading generic third-world Caribbean paradise.
