1984 Exposition Game for the olympics  — 4 months ago

    Worth visiting!

I went with my school or it could have been with Scouts? I can’t remember now. It was fun and we played china or japan or something. I was young. But I think this really was at the collesium – not Dodger’s Stadium, I went tonight and I saw the real dodger’s stadium and this didn’t seem like the memories I have of the 1984 game – so I must have been wrong.

    Worth visiting!

I get half price tickets from here. They don’t have tix to every game but usually some pretty good ones! I got tix through them to last weekend’s game against the Pirates when Russell Martin hit a walk off grand slam- it was fantastic! They have the upcoming games against St. Louis and an away game in San Diego in June.

The seats were great, by the way… Infield reserve, behind home plate. Not the too-far top deck or the benches in the outfield. I think you can get field level at half price as well, although I’ve never purchased those so I don’t know what kind of view you’d have.

Was to see an intra-league game with the Angels. I’ve probably been here 2-3 times total.

Not really a baseball fan  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

I’m not really a baseball fan, it’s so boring to watch on tv. I bought tickets secretly from a season holder to take my love to. I surprised him a few summers ago when he got these tickets in the mail with no return address. He almost ripped the envelope in half!

I had fun, I had the legendary Dodger dogs.. garlic fries..

We got there a bit late and left early to beat the traffic leaving lol.

I wouldn’t mind going back.. it was fun singing in 7th inning stretch, so much better than watching on tv.

Too bad they lost that day though against the Padres.

I've only been here once...but what an experience  — 2 years ago

It was when Depeche Mode played there in 1990. It was summer and yet there were clouds, thunder and lightning—how appropriate for Depeche, it was as if the heavens themselves were welcoming them. I’ve recently found a copy of a good recording of the show that evening and it was as epochal as I remember it. So for that reason alone, Dodger Stadium plain rules in my mind.

I hear they play games there too. ;-)

    Not worth it!

The only reason I enjoyed going was:

    1. It was free. (Box seats thru my dad’s work.)
    2. I always took a friend, which was usually the fun part.
    3. Hot dogs are good.
    4. It’s a memory I get to have with my parents.

Other than that, eh. I don’t like baseball and I don’t like watching it. I’ll probably never pay to go to Dodger Stadium.

I went to a Dodger game and I was amazed at the size of this stadium! I am not a huge baseball fan but seeing the game live (and here) was absolutely worth doing. It’s a great day out!

...and probably the best old park in the MLB. There is never going to be a need to tear down this 30+ year old treasure and rebuild an ultramodern stadium. If they dare try, I’ll chain myself to the scoreboard.

If you are marking the baseball stadiums off your list, put this one near the top. It is not new fangled with lots of lights and crazy attention grabbers, but it is what baseball should be about. Make sure you eat a Dodger dog and garlic fries. It holds about 56,000 people and overlooks downtown LA.
