Discussion: goodbye 24 hour corner  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

I know this is kind of old news, but I’ll put it up for discussion anyway.

“Ballard’s distinctive Denny’s diner, which was bought by the Seattle Monorail Project, is instead likely to be replaced by a large mixed-use development with roughly 40,000 square feet of retail space and 225 to 275 apartments or condominiums, according to bidders on the property.”

The last time I went to Ballard was to visit my Brother Owen. He just bought a house there!

Ballard always makes me think of Christmas  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

Because I’m usually over there at least once in December, because that’s when the Squirrels are out and about…

Home of the Fishermen!  — 3 years ago

    Worth visiting!

You’ll find the Hiram-Chittendon Locks in Ballard. The locks connect the Puget Sound to Lake Union and Lake Washington. This is also the fisherman’s port of Seattle. It’s so much fun to walk through the old part of town. If you do check out the sandwich shop “The Other Coast Cafe.” (try the cajun turkey)
