Ah, Naropa, maybe one day...  — 2 years ago

Sadly, I don’t think I will be starting any MFA studies at Naropa anytime soon since the commute from Denver Tech Center would just be too much. But their contemporary performance program is still on my “terminal degree” radar, since one day I really do plan to terminate my perennial studying. ;-) The PhD thing just seems like wayyyyy too much research for my artist blood…

Spontaneous trip since I was in town anyway  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

I just visited the campus to get a feel for things. I wandered into the Lincoln bulding and got in trouble because I was approaching the president’s office. Here was when I was rudely informed that there are tours everyday at 2pm. Moving on, then I wandered around the Admissions building and grabbed a ton more fliers. There is way more infromation there than on their website and what they send you in the mail. Granted I guess most of it is for students already there but it was interesting to see what was offered. Then I left, walked past some students sitting at a table intimately chatting away, and checked out the library-sadly it was closed. There’s a really cool swing outside on the porch though. I witnessed a girl walk up to the group I walked past earlier and go around kissing each of them on the forhead or cheek. I wanted a kiss too. One person finally returned my smile when I looked at them at one point as well=) I finished walking around and looking in windows of closed bulidings. I was informed that the place was kinda dead because graduation was the next day. So I’ll probably go back in time for the tour and on a Monday since I believe that is when they have their tea ceremony. I think.

    A tip
Don’t bother parking on capmus-pretty much just like any other university you are not going to find any spots and a visitor’s day pass is $3.00

    Worth visiting!

I really wanted to go to grad school at Naropa. They have an awesome Transpersonal Psych program, but it’s very expenisve. Everyone there seemed really super kind and the mentality at the school was very chill. Just couldn’t face the debt.
