Young or Old?  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

Marietta is a great place to raise young children because it’s safe & it’s a great place for old people because it’s kind of quiet. It’s good for people who like history, rivers, or small towns. It would be worth the trip to see the Sternwheel Festival in the fall. Also, it was the first town established when the Louisana Purchase was made…the gateway to the Northeast Territory. Lovely, right? If you want Starbucks this is not your place. It is however, really really pretty and relaxing. Stay at the Lafayette Hotel. Visit some ghosts. I wouldn’t plan on staying there for any sort of long time unless you like what you see. The novelties of living in a historic town get old really quick.
