One day you just have to get on 82nd and sunnyside and walk all the way north. You’ll def have at least one adventure.

Anyone else in SE forget to make plans for the three day weekend like I did? Anyone else stuck in town while everyone you know is gone? Anyone have any ideas other than trying to visit some of the places on my to-do list? Anyone want to join me in visiting some of the places on my to-visit list?

My cousin and his family live here as do a number of friends, so that’s as good a reason to visit as any. Plus some darn good places to eat, drink and hang out. I am a simple man sometimes. (Also, love the trees and general look of the neighborhood.)

I like visiting the Hawthorne district, grass root vibe, friendly people, good food, cool shops, and its a growing community with many creative people. Saw couple of bars. I need to go here soon and get me some nice cold beer one of these days.

There’s magic in these streets. Every avenue elicits a sense of wonder.

Southeast Portland is fantastic to live in. People are friendly and creative, and it’s possible to find an affordable apartment within easy walking distance to all your regular destinations – no need to drive to a cafe, bar, or grocery store, because there’s one just down the street. This just increases quality of life in SO MANY WAYS.
There are many second run theatres, of which quite a few are theatre pubs, charging roughly $3 for a movie and reasonable prices for good local microbrews and pizza. The parks are filled with friendly people and their dogs… and there are lots of parks. The area is generally vegan friendly and pretty much everyone is an artist or a craftsperson.
