The first time I went to this place  — 5 months ago

A very special experience for me – my first ever baseball game! A beautiful venue. My first glimpse of it was when the plane flew over Seattle and passed right over the ballpark before sharply banking and heading towards the airport.

We were there for the game on the 2nd anniversary of 9/11 and when the national anthem was sung by one of the city’s firefighters (I think – what a voice!), I was close to tears.

Saw Ichiro and the Mariners and ate Ichiroll on my birthday. (The M’s lost, though.)

I used to maintain the planters of annuals around the perimeter of Safeco Field. Since it was such a big area, I got to drive the golf cart to carry the hoses & buckets around – cheap thrills!! :)

Go Mariners!  — 2 years ago

    Worth visiting!

Growing up in Alabama I had a chance to see the Braves play in Atlanta a few times. But while living in Puyallup the same year that Safeco opened I took my chance to see the Mariners play at Safeco as often as I could. The ballpark is amazing, beautiful and full of ambience!

I’ve never sat in a bad seat here, and the trains going by give it a unique ambiance. Check it out if you’re visiting Seattle or a local.

So much fun.  — 2 years ago

It’s a beautiful ballpark. And I say this an an Oakland A’s fan who is proud of the gritty Coliseum and scoffs at “New Ballpark Mania.” Safeco, however, is a shining example of how splendid, utilitarian, and pleasing a ballpark can be.

Add to that the fact that the fans are some of the nicest and most knowledgeable around, and I am sold. I would go back in a heartbeat. Hell, I’d go to Seattle just to go see a game here! It’s true!
